ATTICA. Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 16.94 g, 1 h), circa 144/3. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos. Rev. A-ΘE Owl standing facing on Amphora; in fields to left and right, two monograms; to outer right, filleted thyrsos; on amphora, H; in exergue, EY; all within laurel wreath. Thompson 174 var. Nicely toned and attractive. Light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
